Salifus: "The most important for me is to make this festival a moment of meeting, sharing, exchange ..."

From 4 to 10 July 2016, the first edition of B.boyBGirl Africa festival will take place in
Dakar. Indeed, the Senegalese capital will be the crossroads of the African Hip Hop dancers. The man behind this great project is called Salif Traore. Founding member of the legendary dance group X-Trem B.Boys, Salifus was given horns and soul to implement this project.

Founding member of Xtrems B.boys, Salifus is not a present. In recent years, you are on your Hip Hop Dance Festival Project. Can you tell us more?

Indeed, I am on the festival since the creation of the association in 2012. The project was created for urban dancers in Africa to enable them to exchange and share with the world.
Africa needs an urban dance festival extensive and unique.
The motivation for this project already has the love of dance and energy that all the dancers in Africa make me go to put the Festival BBA in place. We are in 2016 and we will make the first edition of the festival, from July 4 to July 10 to Senegal at the Terminus freedom 5, the Goethe Institute and the Grand Theatre. I invite everyone to come and attend this great event.

Apart from this project you are working on?

Apart from this project, I work on the research project which aims to create MJC (House of Youth and Culture) in the different African countries.
I work with companies in France KÄFIG; ETHADAM; DK-BEL; AFRAW ..... I am also in the audiovisual, video projects, films and documentaries. I have so many project I take the time to install them gradually.

Dance in Africa has grown significantly recently with new technologies. What is your assessment on that?

My analysis is personal and what is my perspective. The dance develops technology that is very true, but we lose a lot of dance too.
Technology is great and bad at the same time for dancing. After that depends on the use of this technology.

What can we expect from this festival?

The most important for me is to make this festival a moment of meeting, sharing, exchange and happiness for Africa and all other participants continents.
So you are all invited to dance, share the conference over to dance and learn more about this dance and see what Africa little set up.
